KTM factory rider Tommy Searle has won the opening round of the British Motocross championship with 1-1 results, leading home Molson Kawasaki rider Stephen Sword who scored 2-2 results and French rider Pascal Leuret who went 3-4. In the MX1 it was CAS Honda rider Billy Mackenzie who won, also with 1-1 results.
Defending MX2 champion Mike Brown of the CAS Honda team had a disappointing day finishing in 12th place overall, while another former champion Carl Nunn also failed to impress with 13th place overall.
In the MX1 Billy Mackenzie also of the CAS Honda team also dominated, winning both motos and finishing ahead of Kenneth Gundersen and Brad Anderson.
